2012-2013 Student Involvement Application
How will you leave YOUR mark?
Becoming involved on campus is a great way to make a difference and leave your mark on the Fresno State community! The Student Involvement Center provides a variety of opportunities to enhance and maximize your college experience through involvement. Leadership Boards through the Student Involvement Center include: Campus Involvement Ambassadors, University Student Union (USU) Board of Directors, USU Productions, & Vintage Days.
Currently the Student Involvement Center is looking for qualified individuals to join these Leadership Boards. To apply, complete the attached application and submit it to the Student Involvement Center, USU Room 306 by Friday, March 2nd 2012 at 5:00PM. Upon submission of your application, an interview for each Leadership Board applied for will be scheduled.
Campus Involvement Ambassadors - NEW! |
Campus Involvement Amnbassadors serve as resource to student interested in becoming connected to the campus communit. In addition to introducing students to a variety of opportunities, ambassadors promote campus involvement and assist in the development of student clubs and organizations.
Campus Involvement Ambassadors are responsible for:
- Promoting campus involvement through presentations and campus outreach
- Serving as a resource for students seeking to get involved at Fresno State
- Developing and strengthening student clubs and organizations
- Promoting, attending, and facilitating two Emerging Leaders Retreats
- Attendance at trainings, weekly meetings, and weekly office hours.
Applicants should have previous leadership experience at Fresno State. Members are required to be enrolled full-time and maintain a semester and cumulative GPA of 2.50 throughout the application process and the 2012-2013 academic year.
USU Board of Directors |
The USU Board of Directors oversees the programs, services, and facilities of the University Student Union (USU) by establishing general operating policy and providing direction and input about the programs and services within the USU. Committees of the USU Board include: Budget & Finance, PR & Marketing, Planning & Operations, and Personnel.
Members of the USU Board are responsible for:
- Serving on a professional board with faculty and administrators from across campus to help to meet the needs of students
- Representing the voice of students regarding issues affecting the USU and Satellite Student Union
- Encouraging student involvement and leadership development
- Attendance at trainings, weekly meetings, and weekly office hours
Members are required to be enrolled full-time and maintain a semester and cumulative GPA of 2.00 throughout the application process and the 2012-2013 academic year.
USU Productions |
USU Productions is where the fun is at! This programming board strives to develop entertaining and enriching events and programs throughout the year. It consists of ten committees including: B.A.G. of Laughs, Big Screen, Celebrations & Festivals, CenterStage, The Music Scene, The Point, Public Relations & Marketing, Recreation & Leisure, Special Events, and Spirit.
Coordinators for USU Productions are responsible for:
- Brainstorming, planning, and implementing events for students within his/her committee area
- Recruiting and involving a student sub-committee in the process of program planning
- Supporting all USU Productions events
- Attendance at trainings, weekly meetings, and weekly office hours
Members are required to be enrolled full-time and maintain a semester and cumulative GPA of 2.00 throughout the application process and the 2012-2013 academic year.
Vintage Days |
Vintage Days is a three-day, student-planned campus and community celebration. The annual spring event combines social, cultural, and recreational activities into an extended weekend. Vintage Days committees include: Boomtown Carnival, Casino Night, Concerts, Crafts Faire, Development, Kid’s Zone, Marketing, Public Relations, and Special Events.
Coordinators for Vintage Days are responsible for:
- Planning, organizing and executing events and activities held at Vintage Days (includes attendance at all events during Vintage Days weekend)
- Recruiting and involving a student sub-committee in the process of program planning
- Promoting Vintage Days
- Attendance at trainings, weekly meetings, and weekly office hours
Members are required to be enrolled in full-time units and maintain a semester and cumulative GPA of 2.00 throughout the application process and the 2012-2013 academic year.
