Centenial Time Capsule- May 2011
The time capsule is preserved in a 19.8” x 18.2” x 10.3” weather appropriate container for the next 50 years, was buried. near the Memorial Fountain on campus.
Students submitted such items as a Top Dog Awards program, an Alumni Association T-shirt and mug; a print out of fees and tuition; a copy of the ASI magazine Campus Compass; a Black Student Union Dance Xpress t-shirt; a binder of the 2009/10 student movement chronicling student protests, strikes, sit ins, and walk outs against tuition increases and the decrease in state funding for higher education; a horse shoe signed by the Fresno State Equestrian Team and mementos of their accomplishments in the 2010 and 2011 season; a Hmong Student Association photo; a lacrosse ball signed by the women's lacrosse team, the newest NCAA sport at Fresno State; and a poster and magazine advertising the Centennial Vintage Days, which hosted Fresno State's general public 100th birthday party.
Selena Farnesi, executive vice president of the ASI and president-elect who helped coordinate the project with Yesenia Carrillo of the USU, said, “This entire year, celebrating the Centennial, has been an amazing experience. It means a lot to me to be able to be a part of something like the Centennial Time Capsule, preserving the accomplishments and contributions of my peers so that what we’re doing here as Bulldogs will never be forgotten.”

Time Capsule is buried south of the Memorial Fountain.
Student Leaders will be opening the buried Time Capsule in the year 2061.
