Resident Meal Plans

The five different dining options offered allow your son or daughter to choose the dining plan which best meets their needs.

The 21 Plan

Resident Dining Plans The 21 plan provides a busy student with every meal offered in the Dining Hall each week. There are 21 meals offered every week, including breakfast, lunch and dinner, Monday through Friday, and brunch and dinner on Saturdays and Sundays. It is up to the student which meals they eat, but the plan covers all 21. In the Fall semester, the 21 Plan totals 313 meals. In the Spring semester, it totals 310 meals.

The 14 Plan

This plan gives your student 14 meals per week and the flexibility to eat elsewhere a few times per week. For example, if your son or daughter ate all 14 meals during the week, they would have Friday night, Saturday and Sunday (5 meals) to eat out with their friends, go home for the weekend or just order in pizza. As always, it is up to the student which meals they eat. In the Fall semester, the 14 Plan totals 239 meals and the Spring semester totals 238.

The 14 Flex Plan

This plan is the same as the 14 Plan, but it gives your student $50 worth of Scrip Money (campus dollars) which they may spend at any dining facility on campus. It also gives them $65 additional dollars on their Key Card that you may spend at any location on campus. This gives them the opportunity to eat at any dining facility on campus along with the meals in the Dining Hall.

The 10 Flex Plan

Here’s the plan for those of you who never know when or where your next meal will be because of your hectic schedule. The 10 Flex Plan allows you to eat your choice of 10 meals of the 21 meals offered in the Dining Hall. You’ll also receive $50 of Scrip Money (campus dollars) which you may spend at any dining facility on campus and an additional $65 on your Key Card to use anywhere on campus. This lets you eat in the Dining Hall when you can make time, or just grab something at the Food Court! The Fall semester totals 175 meals and Spring semester totals 170.

The 7 Plan (**only for qualified students)

Okay, we know you all are busy college students who are doing everything under the sun. So here’s what we’ve come up with for those of you who seem to go days without eating a proper meal. The 7 Plan gives you eat seven meals in the Dining Hall. Of the 21 meals offered, it is our hope that you can make it in for seven of them. At least for a break from your daily grind! Again, it is your choice which seven meals you eat! The Fall semester totals 124 and Spring semester totals 119.

**Qualifying students are returning residents who resided in the University Courtyard for the full previous license agreement term.

Meal Plan changes are only accepted during the weeks of September 11-15 or February 5-9. Meal Plan Change Applications can be picked up and dropped off at the Dining Services Office, located underneath the Dining Hall, 7:00 am - 5:00 pm weekdays.

Dining Hall Operations One meal may be taken per meal period, and each student must use his or her own card. If the card is used in an unauthorized manner, it will be held for the student in the Key Card Office and there is a $25 to have it returned to the student. If the card is lost, the student is permitted meal passes for three days while the card is located. Thereafter the student must buy a replacement card. These passes are only issued Monday through Friday between 7:00 am - 5:00 pm from the Dining Services Office. A student with a missing card, who had not obtained passes during the week, will have to pay cash for meals. If that student reports to the Dining Services Office before 5:00 pm the next business day and can verify they were entitled to that meal, the money will be refunded, but only if the student has the receipt for payment.

Guest Meals

University Courtyard residents with a 14, 14-Flex, or 21 meal plan will be allowed up to 10 meals for guests per semester for the purpose of using meals from a resident’s existing meal plan. University Courtyard residents with a 7 or 10-Flex meal plan will be allowed up to 5 guest meals per semester. Guest meals will be deducted from the total number of meals available for the student. Students must present their Key Card (campus ID). In order for the guest to be admitted, the guest must be accompanied by the student.

What is Scrip Money?

What is Scrip Money? Scrip is money printed by Fresno State that is considered "campus dollars". It can be spent just like cash at any dining facility on campus, except Juice It Up.

If all meals are used before the end of the semester, additional daily meals may be purchased through the Dining Services Office at the rate of $4.80 per meal, or individual pricing is available at the cashier.

Any meal balance at the end of the semester is forfeited. Meal plan cost is based on statistical fact that not every resident eats every meal in his or her plan, which helps keep the cost affordable.
