With the recent pistachio recall throughout the state of California, we would like you to know that our Fresno State-grown pistachios are safe to eat.  Our pistachios are grown on Fresno State's University Farm Laboratory and shipped to a company in Tulare for packaging.  They are then sold at the Farm Market.

Here is documentation from our packaging company, A&P Growers:

Health Benefits of Pistachios

Heart Health:  Pistachios have mostly monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, which are the “good” fats.   These fats can help lower cholesterol and fight off heart disease.

Weight Management:  Pistachios are a good source of protein, fiber, and fat, which makes them a great snack because they keep us full longer.  Pistachios also take a longer time to eat when they are in a shell, so we eat them more slowly, allowing the brain to realize we are full sooner.  That helps us eat less.  Pistachios are also one of the lowest fat and lowest calorie nuts.

Fiber:  Dietary fiber reduces cholesterol absorption from food, therefore lowering cholesterol levels in the blood. Fiber also helps keep our digestive track regular.  An ounce of pistachios contains 3 grams of fiber, or 12% of the daily value, which is the same as a single serving of oatmeal.
